DESCRIPTION: Nancy is in Alberta near Edmonton. This is an interesting approach. I am guessing that masking fluid was used to protect the flowers while the pastel washes were layed down on wet paper for the background. She has a very pleasant selection of colours. Then when the paper was dry, the rest was drawn with the brush similar to calligraphy or one stroke decorative painting. It is a little different than "outlining" because the whole painting is consistent with this linear treatment and results in quite an attractive design.
