TITLE:
DESCRIPTION: John has a very exciting painting here. He redesigned his work from the original drawing and created the illusion that the flowers are emerging from a pot or central mass without actually drawing an object there. This power of suggestion invites the viewer to participate in the painting by using their own imagination. The treatment is fresh, the flowers have a mix of soft and sharp (lost and found) edges and their shapes are pleasingly random. I like this almost monochromatic scheme but I would be very interested in seeing you do a different painting with this same skill and confidence but with the addition of bright colour. Not necessarily flowers.
