DESCRIPTION: Jane's work is as gentle as a whisper. This is another example of a dedicated study of negative paintng where great care has been taken to work around the flowers. I don't suggest trying to get bold with painting if it is not in your nature, but a bit stronger colour or value in the background would prevent the stems from being more noticeable than the flowers.
