TITLE:
DESCRIPTION: Some paintings in this show called for increasing the darks to pump up contrast but this has a mood about it that would be lost by injecting dark paint. Our attention is steered by the excellent graded background. The light on the flowers could be more consistent with the background, (strong light from top right) leave more white. Even dull surfaces show a bit of highlight with a strong light source.
