DESCRIPTION: Arlene explained that she did not have time to paint the project but had this similar painting already and wanted to participate in the show. Remarkable coincidence. She clearly has developed painting and designing skills and shows a good understanding of the subject. This is well drawn which I believe is a measure of talent. In the next painting I would like to see the background bleed off the edges to become a stand alone painting and go soft and out of focus in places. This will add depth. Also, two equal size features tend to compete for attention and start what is known as the "ping-pong" game in design where our attention jumps back and forth.
